Hanni Tran is the visionary founder of GapEdu Consulting and Training, established in 2000. With a steadfast commitment to sustainable tourism, Hanni has led GapEdu in pioneering community-based tourism initiatives in Vietnam, notably in An Giang Province. These projects have empowered local communities by integrating them into tourism development, promoting responsible practices, and ensuring equitable benefit-sharing.
Between 2010 and 2015, under Hanni’s leadership, GapEdu expanded its focus to encompass tourism education, training, and communication across major Vietnamese cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Vung Tau. These initiatives equipped tourism professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement sustainable practices within the industry.
From 2015 onwards, Hanni has propelled GapEdu onto the global stage through participation in prestigious events like the Global Tourism Forum and contributions to World Magazine. This international engagement has facilitated collaborations with experts worldwide, advocating for global sustainability initiatives and promoting the adoption of responsible tourism practices.
In addition to her role with GapEdu, Hanni serves as the Chief Sustainability Officer for the World Tourism Forum Institute, where she drives sustainability activities in collaboration with the Institute’s partners and shapes key initiatives for the Global Tourism Forum events. Hanni also acts as the Editor-in-Chief of the newly launched magazine by the World Tourism Forum Institute, championing innovative ideas and insights in the field of sustainable tourism.
Hanni is currently spearheading the global expansion of sustainability initiatives through her partnership with Max Rangeley & Partners. This strategic collaboration aims to amplify the reach and impact of sustainable practices worldwide, leveraging innovative strategies and cross-sector partnerships.
