Market Research

Whether you are a startup looking to understand your market environment or a large company who would like to move into new markets, we can put together a research project for you.

“Max took care of the market research for us looking at online sports media companies. Everything was done to the highest standards and for a low cost. I would highly recommend working with them for any market research you need.”

Competitor Intelligence

As an example, we have worked for some of the largest financial companies, such as insurance companies, gathering data on their competitors. Our teams can work to find out what your competitors are doing: what prices are they charging, what are their terms and conditions and how do they compare to your company? We can also, if desired, work with legal analysts to compare, including experts in legal systems from different parts of the world.

Experience with Think Tanks and Lecturing

Our experience working with think tanks for many years has been useful in how we can provide research for the wider market. At think tanks, we bring together economists, businesspeople, academics, political experts and others to formulate policy – this multi-disciplinary aspect is very useful for many kinds of market research. Additionally, lecturing in universities and other such institutions has given valuable experience.

Market Research

What is the size of the market you would like to move into? What is the profitability? Is the market growing? For most companies, this type of research is expensive and time-consuming – you should be focussed on the core aspects of your business. That is where we come in — we can ensure you have the best data available for making decisions.

For one of the largest insurance companies in Europe, we engaged in analysing new markets they wanted to move into. This included putting together a full report on their competitors: what are they charging? What are their terms and conditions and how do they compare? Are they advertising heavily? What is the price elasticity of each potential market to move into? The insurance company was then able to make effective decisions about what market to move into.

Four young entrepreneurs in the UK wanted to set up a sports media company which would specialise in streaming sports matches from the lower leagues, which are often not broadcast at all. Max Rangeley & Partners organised a full market analysis of the regions of the world where this model had already been used, the different business models, which had been effective and what the potential threats were.
